| Geology | Tux is located at the geologic divison between
the Tux Forealps (clay schist rock formations) and the main ridge of the Tux mountains
(granite gneiss). The mighty Hintertux glacier rises at the end of the valley in
Hintertux, and the Olperer, with its elevation of 3.476 m, is the highest point in the
region. The different types of rocks on either side of the valley provide Tux with its particularly attractive and unique landscape, its beauty admired by hiking and mountaineering enthusiasts alike. |
